No Snow Days In The Livestock Business

January 3, 1894

Clear, cold, snow.  Wind in evening.  Andrew came home.  Maggie went home with (part of page missing).

January 3, 2017

24 degrees and snowing hard.

Dad fed the cattle early this morning.

Penned the cattle and separated in a driving snowstorm.  It snowed about 5 inches, and the weather report is calling for another 5-10 inches overnight. I hope the trucks will be able to fight their way through this storm and get the cattle to the sale, I-5 closed north of Redding.  Held back some to sell locally, glad to be able to keep them out of the conventional cattle market.  Hope it is more in the future, better for everyone & the animals.

Long but productive day.
