There are numerous family friendly campgrounds in the area or live large and stay at one of McCloud’s historic Bed & Breakfasts. All are USFS campgrounds and with exception of Trout Creek are located on or near the McCloud River. There are three waterfalls in this area including an old fashion swimming hole and are connected by a hiking trail. Most of the campgrounds are RV friendly. The Pacific Crest Trail is located a couple of miles to the south of these campgrounds as well.
